Summary:
It is estimated that by 2050, the global population will be 10 billion. Africa is the determining factor in whether the global human population growth rate will increase or decrease. In fact, decline in African birth rates is slower than the rest of the world. At this rate, Africa would become as densely populated as present day China. However, new analysis incorporating analyzing the global economy, environment, and health is now being implemented in lieu of assumptions. Moreover, educating females especially in Africa about contraceptives and protection is a huge step and initiative being rolled out to prevent population bust and large families.
Reflection:
Just like Mrs. Ogo constantly emphasizes in class, especially since the primary environmental issue is human population growth, education is significant. In impoverished, third-world countries, such as those in Africa, this statement holds most value. Africa is the primary factor in determining whether this planet will boom or not in human population, but that does not mean other countries should be forsaken as well. I still think it is important to continue to teach about safe sex, protection, etc. everywhere, especially in educational facilities. Personally, I will probably be a bachelor forever and never have children, but I cannot say that for the rest of the human population
